With a background in Marketing, Olivia was working in Social for an award-winning Customer Engagement agency in London, before relocating to Singapore to become Head of Marketing at Vanda.fit and the largest White Collar Boxing Event Series in Asia. Previous owner of fitness centres in Christchurch for 15 years, and has worked in the industry for over 20 years. Involved with ExerciseNZ since 1998, and President from 1999-2005.

Richard has a Bachelor of Science in Statistics, and completed a Masters degree (MBA) specialising in the fitness industry. Richard presents internationally on fitness industry trends and has a passion for helping businesses realise their potential.

Amanda Stevens is an author, speaker and business advisor. As well as being a renowned thought leader on the subjects of marketing, the customer experience and the future of consumers, she has a passion for small business. So much so that in her spare time she buys, renovates and sells businesses the way other people do with houses!

Amanda founded her first marketing agency in 1995, at the ‘ripe old age’ of 21. After growing it into a multi-million dollar operation, she sold to a multinational recruitment company, freeing up her time to help guide other businesses.

As a speaker and consultant, Amanda combines current consumer insights with fascinating research into buying behaviour, delivering powerful strategies to help business owners form better connections with their customers. She is also the author of five books on sales and marketing, including her best-seller ‘Turning Customers into Advocates’.

Amanda has a double degree in consumer psychology and marketing. While she has worked as a consultant for large brands including Lend Lease, Microsoft, Procter and Gamble and even the Australian Liberal Party, she gets a real kick out of working with startups and fast-growing small businesses.

According to Amanda, there’s never been more opportunity for small business to compete with big business and scale quickly. She says that brands and organisations which combine the best of ‘high tech’ (automation, artificial intelligence and virtual reality) with the best of ‘high touch’ (personalised, human experiences) will win the battle for relevance in the next 3-5 years.

Amanda is a former Young Australian of the Year (Career Achievement in NSW). In March 2018, she was named the Keynote Speaker of the Year by the Professional Speakers Association of Australia.

Bryan O’Rourke is considered by many to be one of the leading global experts on technology, consumer and business trends in the health club and fitness industry. As a keynote speaker during the past decade Bryan has shared his vision and insights with over 100 audiences on four continents. He has contributed to six books on the health club and fitness industry and his views have been shared in leading periodicals like the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times, among many others. 

Bryan sits on the board of IHRSA in addition to serving as President of the Fitness Industry Technology Council. He is chairman of the private equity firm Vedere Ventures which has investments in Europe, Asia, and the Americas and he has worked with and advised some of the leading global fitness brands in digital marketing, technology and strategy. His M&A practice has closed 17 transaction on the buy and sell side in the past 6 years.

Bryan has a BS in Finance from the University of New Orleans, and a MBA from South Eastern Louisiana University . He has completed academic work on a Ph.D. In Financial Economics and completed professional studies in technology ,strategy, and innovation at Harvard, Stanford, and the University of Chicago.

ALAN LEACH

Currently CEO and Director of Sales and Marketing at West Wood Club, with over 35,000 members at 6 clubs.
In 2006, Leach was recruited by West Wood Clubs in Ireland as sales and marketing director. Within 24 months, he increased new membership sales by 62%, dues revenue by 42%, and overall membership numbers by 31%.
From 2007 to 2015, a devastating economic recession, a 300% increase in unemployment, and the arrival of ‘budget’ clubs, resulted in the majority of fitness clubs in Ireland going out of business. However, at West Wood Club, Leach continued to break sales records every year and grow membership, charging prices up to eight times higher than our closest competitors.
In late 2016, West Wood Club purchased their competitor, the high-priced luxury brand Crunch Fitness. In just 16 months, while increasing prices, and introducing $600 joining fees, Leach increased new member sales by 67%, and we grew overall membership by 57%.
Today, turnover at our 6 clubs is $34.7 Million.
The recent COVID pandemic resulted in a 3 month lockdown for all health clubs and gym in Ireland. Implementing proven sales and marketing strategies, Leach was able to see an increase in new member sales of 78%, 36%, and 30% in the first 3 months after re-opening.
As CEO, Leach personally presents all sales and marketing training for all staff and managers.
